About the database

The Baltic business database lists enterprises which are active in the mining sector. Apart from mining companies (i.e. an enterprise with a permit to mine mineral resources even if this is not their primary business activity), enterprises which deal with mining waste, specialise in developing machinery to support waste management activities or provide R&D support to the mining industry are included in the Baltic business database.

The data is presented in the form of a table and on a map. Both the table and map are searchable.

The collecting of enterprise information has been carried out on two levels.
The first set of organisations are based in the regions represented in the MIN-NOVATION project. The second set of organisations are active outside these regions but within the MIN-NOVATION partner countries.

The following MIN-NOVATION partners organised and collected data which makes up the Baltic business database:
· from Poland, AGH University of Science and Technology and the Foundation for Lower Silesian Mineral Resources Cluster;
· from Sweden, the Örebro Regional Development Council;
· from Estonia, Tallinn University of Technology, Department of Mining;
· from Finland, Kainuun Etu Ltd;
· from Germany, the Educational Institution of Employers Association Saxony-Anhalt;
· from Norway, University of Stavanger.
